Module 2 - Defending from various strikes and kicks


When defending from a strike, whether it is a punch or kick, always attempt to side-step or move out of the attacker’s range. If this is not possible close them down as quickly as you can.


(Please note the blocking techniques that are being demonstrated). If you do not block effectively when being attacked at full speed and power, you may be weakened to the extent that you cannot counter-attack your opponent.


Also when you have closed the attacker down and are in a standing grapple situation this is when most of your throwing techniques will be most effective.


Leg sweeping throw. Defending from multiple punches to body and face
Shoulder throw from hook punch
Stomach throw from grab
Neck Crank and strangle hold
Double legs take down defending from two hook punches
